Medicare Enrollment Periods
Initial Enrollment Period (IEP)
3 months before your 65th birthday, your birth month, and 3 months after (7 months total). This is your first chance to enroll in Medicare.
Annual Enrollment Period (AEP)
October 15 – December 7 every year. You can switch Medicare Advantage plans, switch from Original Medicare to Medicare Advantage (or vice versa), or change Part D plans.
Special Enrollment Periods (SEP)
Certain life events may qualify you for special enrollment outside normal periods. Examples include moving, losing other coverage, or qualifying for Extra Help.
