Medicare News · Costs & Premiums
Covered insulin costs no more than $35 for a month’s supply — with no deductible to meet first.
What changed
Medicare caps your copay for a covered insulin product at $35 per month, and you don’t have to meet the Part D deductible first. The cap applies at the pharmacy on both Part D and Medicare Advantage drug plans.
Who it affects
Anyone on Medicare who uses insulin.
What to do
Check that your specific insulin is on your plan’s formulary — the $35 cap applies to covered products. If yours isn’t covered well, a yearly plan review can find one that covers it at the capped price.
